In an inadvertent right-wing version of the Sokal hoax, Fox News host Eric Bolling announced that algebra texts are promoting the socialist agenda by telling children to "distribute the wealth." What they are promoting is the distributive law, which says that x (y + z) = xy + xz. Math is hard. If you're stupid.

But that is promoting a socialist agenda. If it weren't, why use "distribute the wealth," which has nothing to do with the distributive law, as an analogy?

"... Paul Krugman’s logic is child’s play: Share your stuff… A lot of this comes from the teachers. They get their news from The Huffington Post and their antiperspirant from a health food store. This is the way they live.”

I'm sorry; this fails to make sense. Even when I switch out the subjects and objects.

Wait until they find out that algebra itself was invented by Muslims (specifically a fellow named al-Khowaizmi), and it's often used by al-Qaeda terrorists.

That should have been "al-Khwarizmi". Confusticate and bebother this keyboard.
