As the UK tries to exit from Brexit and the US tries to deal with the president’s deteriorating mental condition (which wasn’t that great to begin with), I hope we learn at least one lesson: Never put anything to a vote on the assumption that the masses won’t be stupid enough to support it.

I am currently watching the #BrexitShambles hashtag on Twitter. This is not so much schadenfreude as misery loves company. (I live and vote in the US.)

I feel the need to point out that in fact 45 lost the popular vote, as the Republicans have in all but one presidential election since 1989.
