The president still seems to believe that calculated vengeance is not really a force in politics. Once again, the electorate showed him how wrong he was. The president still seems to believe that covert (and not so covert) racism is not really a force in politics. Or he believes he has the personal and political skills to overcome all of them with the strength of his personal narrative. Fundamentally, that's the hill he would have his administration die on. Date: 2014-11-06 02:42 pm (UTC)His party turned its back on him instead of trying their best to get through the media cloud that the economy is picking up due to his leadership, and that so many have health care options now who had none before--that covert racism thing and probably because those Dems at the top don't feel the pinch and their interests aren't with those of us on the ground. So what exactly is he supposed to do? He can't very well go around like me grumping at how stupid most of the country is.
