Arthur D. Hlavaty

From 1982 to 1992 I officially lived in North Carolina, but I always felt I lived in Research Triangle, an oasis of learning and technology surrounded on all sides by Jesse Helms voters. (There is probably no truth to the rumor that state authorities would chase anyone they caught reading or writing into the Triangle.) Now the state has been caught being really obvious about keeping Blacks from voting.
