Aug. 27th, 2009 07:53 amPandagon has proposed an award for the dumbest thing that can or will be said about Ted Kennedy’s death:
In the race to outdo the moron who said that Stephen Hawking is lucky he doesn't live in the UK, a commenter to Ann Althouse said, "I’ll believe that socialized medicine is a good thing when billionaire senators are required to use it."
1. All senators and representatives have socialized medicine
2. As Jesse Taylor notes, Sen. Kennedy, being over 65, was covered by Medicare, which brings us to the Death Panel question. We already have a government system for old people, which President Obama is trying to extend to all of us. Correct me if I am mistaken, but I don't think Medicare is doing a lot of "Granny told the same story again. Let's have her put to sleep."
