Fritz Perls defined criminal as "an individual who arrogates to himself the privileges of the state." Rupert Murdoch understandably falls into that category, since he runs an empire the size of a nation-state. Unsurprisingly, he decided to use state tactics of information gathering, such as electronic snooping and burglary.
