In Morocco a man who rapes a minor can beat the rap by marrying his victim. In the latest case the perp remarkably enough continued to abuse his bride, until she killed herself.

As an American, I often have the opportunity to be ashamed of my country, but this time I have to say: That wouldn't even happen in Arizona.

What's your data? I think it does happen in America; it just doesn't make the news, and it isn't (centrally, at least) about religion.

I don't think it happens under color of law, though I would not be surprised at similar things happening through family pressure.
