Miller was best known for "The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two, Some Limits on Our Capacity for Processing Information," but I think an even more useful idea is Miller's Law: "In order to understand what another person is saying, you must assume that it is true and try to figure out what it could be true of."
