Hugo Awards
Aug. 10th, 2009 06:00 amCongrats to Neil Gaiman, Nancy Kress,* Elizabeth Bear,* and Ted Chiang. And to David Hartwell, Frank Wu, and Cheryl Morgan, congrats and thanks for pulling out of next year's awards; winning a few (or only one) of the "body of work" awards and quitting is an idea whose time has come. To me, the best Hugo news is the continuation of the Semiprozine award, and I'd like to congratulate Weird Tales. Somehow I don't think of the Semiprozine award as a sacred historical treasure that is betrayed and pissed on when a goddam cross-dressing fictionzine wins it.
