Sadly the NYPD's SV detectives have been shown repeatedly to be any amount of no good at actually prosecuting rapists, even when they've got good evidence to apprehend/convict. This person should be canned, I agree: women may well be ooked out at the fact that their gyno in the ordinary course of things is more likely than not to be male, and the automatic assumption that women will lie about rape is abhorrent. However, this person will not be fired because they are a good little cog in the (chauvinist, racist, numbers-obsessed, self-serving) system.
