Gale Storm is dead. I liked her, and kinda liked My Little Margie, though in retrospect it was pretty dumb. Just goes to show that deaths come in threes to sevens or maybe eights depending on how you count.

(I hadn't thought of her in years, but "The Gale Storm Show--Oh, Susanna!" popped right up in memory. That stuff used to be shown weekday mornings to bored housewives and impressionable children.)

I always wondered where the name came from.

I'm appalled that I didn't even hear about this - heard about Farrah, heard about Ed, heard about Billy Mays, but not Gale Storm. I have to admit, though, my main memory about Gale Storm is not Gale Storm but ZaSu Pitts - I was astonished to learn she was actually considered a great dramatic actress back in the silents (confirmed when I actually got to see Greed), since she was such a quintessential comedy side-kick on Margie...
