They'd survive with reasonably healthy personalities? But that wouldn't explain the pedophilia. (Not to mention that pedophilia does not equal gay.)

Actually I think it would work the other way - bullying gays would lead the pedophiles to think, "They'll blame the gays anyhow, so I can get away with it!"
