I wrote a fanfic recently on Lovecraftian themes, where a Victorian girl discovers that her suitor is a demigoddess with tentacles for limbs and is delighted thereby. I admit that part of the fun of writing it was snickering to myself about being a Black girl writing a happy lesbian relationship on Lovecraftian themes. I don't think he would have been enthused. *cackles*
