RIP, Sam Wyche, an innovative coach who took the Cincinnati Bengals to the Super Bowl. When the local fans were so displeased by an officiating decision that they were throwing things on the field and the refs threatened to forfeit the game, Wyche took the referee’s mike and said, “Calm down. This is Cincinnati. You don’t live in Cleveland.” It worked.
