Even here in the UK it has taken an age to realise that black history goes back a long way and that there were black folks around in mediaeval and Tudor England and in mediaeval Scotland- slavery was not a thing here either until the later 17th century and people realised that getting to these shores made them free.

Then it all went hideously wrong. :o(

I have been increasingly realizing that all those efforts by kids like the one I was to be Ambassadors For Our Race were completely useless, culminating as they did in the election of Trump, and preventing as they didn't things like supposedly intelligent and learned academics attacking the 1619 Project for not being about white people. I should be more upset but I'm just so tired.
