I am beyond horrified. (I mean, *mushroom powder*? That takes EFFORT.)

Mushroom powder is a real product, commonly found at Trader Joe's. It's said to add umami to the food, but I don't eat mushrooms so I don't know.

Regardless, yeah.

It's definetly real, yes -- I bought some from Nuts.com (and found I didn't like its raw-mushroom flavor). But it was kind of an esoteric ingredient in their back catalogue, you know? I'll see if I can spot it at Trader Joe's.

I've seen it at TJ's the last two times I was there. (And yet, I didn't see their harissa salsa, which is what I wanted.)

What really gets me is that they deliberately started cooking mushrooms all the time just to fuck with her. This isn't "Oh, dear, I had no idea gluten was in that" or "Onions are in everything and I sort of forgot" or even "This is our traditional family food we ALWAYS have at Christmas" - this is deliberate and cruel.
