Miriam Adelson, wife of a successful gambling kingpin, was given America’s highest civilian award by a failed gambling kingpin. As repayment, she believes the Bible should add a Book of Trump [USA Today]
I don’t understand Miriam Adelson at all. She was raised aa a left-wing Zionist humanist and yet she believes that Trump is good for the Jews.
(Also, I’m one degree of separation from her, and I just can’t discuss politics with our compassionate conservative mutual for fear of learning that he’s siding with the neocons.)
I really like the expert they talked to, and wish I reememebred his name (there was a big gap between when I read the article and now)

" But I'm reminded of many "false messiahs" – charismatic leaders who passed themselves off as the Messiah, either to perpetrate a fraud or having convinced themselves of their own near divinity. These false messiahs usually arise in turbulent times and, though often welcomed at first, leave behind terrible damage and misery."
I've been saying that Trump reminds me of some popular versions of the Christian God for quite some time.
Putting it in words, he's a self-righteous, inconsistent bully who's supposed to be praised for things that would be considered immoral etc. in anyone less powerful.
But mostly it's about "feel" - the way Trump's followers relate to him is just far too much like the way the relevant set of Christians relate to Him.
