There’s a wave of revisionism going around now pointing out that Winston Churchill was a genocidal colonialist. Our other ally in World War II was even worse. And we still were on the right side.

Those of us brought up here who are not rabid Tories don't exactly find anything novel is this so called revisionism. A lot of us have thought this way for a very long time!

We were fighting against the Nazis. You'd have to try really hard to fail to pass the low bar they set!

Yeah, the Nazis were definitely the worst possible option. Better to get in bed with somewhat less awful allies. After saving the world from Nazis, work on saving it from allies.

I note that there's rather less colonialism now than then, so that ... sort of worked.
