The Repugs aren't cowering--they are with Trump. It's the Republicans, not just Trump. If McConnell said, "let's do an override," they would.

IIRc they would have overriden a veto in December, but Trump refused to sign/veto the damn bill.

This month, yeah, it's McConnell & other Repubs. Sadly, they go along with the toddler behavior because they're afraid of any resulting tantrums. It is Not Helping.

Darth McConnell doesn't fear the tantrums--they're good distractions. Dismantling gov't is good for the corporations to which they are beholden and that's all they care about. They're happy to ride along with Trump.
