Heroes

Bertolt Brecht* said, “Unhappy the land that needs heroes.”

The heroes we need:

Justice Anthony Kennedy, who occasionally voted against unadulterated evil. (Kavanaugh will fix that.)

John McCain, who actually protected Obamacare while all the other Republicans attacked it and supported whatever Nazi or criminal Trump nominated

The nameless coward who helped most of Trump’s agenda but may have kept us out of a nuclear holocaust

*Well, actually, it was probably one of the women who worked for him, but that’s not important now

Collins and Murkowski also defended Obamacare and were much less unreliable about it than McCain was. The heroes you really need, you don't remember as heroes because they just get the thing done.

(Mind you: Collins and Murkowski aren't exactly on my good list this week, because Kavanaugh. But i think the point that McCain gets way more credit than they do for being substantially less useful than they were in protecting Obamacare, stands.)
