Oh yes, good riddance to that dreck. Not terribly safe in hot weather, either. But it's sad that the reason should be chasing after fancy hipster stuff. Ketchup, HP sauce, and any form of mustard are still great things.
That article has an irritating amount of nostalgia for the melting pot paradigm of immigration, and an appalling amount of lust for conformity. I mean, I use mayo in a small number of ways, it's bloody useful for certain things. But to equate multiculturalism with a rejection of mayonnaise is weird, lazy, and a bit xenophobic.
