I remember being a little girl who loved the Little House books and I knew the treatment of Native Americans in them was sooooo racist. It's amazing to watch grown adults flail all over themselves to deny or excuse it. (And I really hate the Fair For Its Day defense especially.)
Yes, that is only one of the things wrong with her books. I think the fact that her daughter rewrote her notes to embellish and emphasize liberterian themes in them is actually pretty bad too.
