yeah, I will sometimes gently shut down someone (male) when they say shit like that about their wives/wives-to-be because ew. At least I don't run into that sentiment often. Of course, some research shows that het marriage is good for men (and bad for women), so men maybe know they're getting a good deal even when they're complaining.
