Re: the efirst link, that is... odd. If a person hears voices, and is okay with that, and is not in any real danger, I don't see why consent wouldn't be the one and only deciding factor. Forced treatment is a horrible thing, when a person is stable and functional.
I'm not going to discuss/debate where the dividing line is for when forcing treatment is acceptable, if it ever is. But if a person is lucid and functional, and not presenting a danger to themselves or others, I don't even see that there's a question. Urging, maybe - "Will you at least do a trial for a month to see if you prefer how you feel when medicated?" - but WTF? We don't make people take any other treatment they refuse, except in excruciatingly rare circumstances.
