In the early 1990s, I was on the jury for a sexual assault case of a young teenage girl. Many of the plot elements were so unrealistic that it never would have worked in fiction -- the attacker pulled the victim off her bicycle while she was driving down a country road; she was rescued because a car driving by stopped to help -- and the person who helped turned out to be one of her teachers from last year.

But one thing that always stuck with me was that the girl giving testimony repeated said that the attacker stuck his hand down her pants and "touched her vagina." It was entirely irrelevant to the case, so I didn't query the use of terms. But I was tempted.
