Ted Alvin Klaudt, a former South Dakota state representative who was convicted of four counts of second-degree rape of his teenage stepdaughters, has sent a notice from state prison announcing that he has copyrighted his name (Ted Alvin Klaudt), in the quaint belief that he can thus control the use of his name in news reports (such as this one) and demand payment for it. Ted Alvin Klaudt is mistaken.
