Interesting. I'm glad I took the poster's advice and responded to the survey before reading the conclusions. As always, I don't fit the gendered pattern. Even though, when I think of it, my parents did provide various geek-friendly material. (E.g. they bought the Meccano set, and then when I loved it, kept buying more Meccano for birthdays and Christmas.) But I didn't present it as a parent thing, and don't really think of it that way.
