John Scalzi shares my view that the California Supreme Court essentially said, "OK, we can't overturn a constitutional amendment as being unconstitutional, so the best we can do is accept the same-sex marriages that already took place and indicate that same-sex marriage is OK if you don't use the magic word marriage."
