Of course Tolkien is Literature; on a par with the Shakespeare's; Austen's; Dicken's & Eliot's of this world; though I'd make my top three Rosemary Sutcliffe; Ursula Le Guin & William Shakespeare, but I'm also pretty sure that Science-Fiction it ain't.

And i don't much like reading dragon-heavy stories either.
