One of my favorite things about being a liberal is that I don’t have to consider people my equals to want them to be treated decently. One example I’ve given is that we should have a single-payer medical system so that no one is financially ruined by illness, even people who’d much rather make sure that queers don’t marry each other. The Rude Pundit makes the same point in his own inimitable sewer-mouthed fashion.
