Usually I find the marquee signs in front of churches amusing (on purpose), but now there's one I pass frequently that says, "Jesus won't ask any more from you than he did for you." So I won't have to do anything worse than die in horrible agony for his sins? As they say, that's Christian of him.

Yeah, they didn't think that one through. Then again, the way right-wing yahoos deliberately tie their kind of Christianity to nationalism, obedience, body-hate, racism, classism, and nobly going forth to be cannon-fodder, maybe they did think it through and that's really terrifying.
