The Web is full of cartoonists who should have competent people draw for them, just as Leonard Cohen's songs should be sung by actual singers, and someone should novelize Frank Herbert.
just as Leonard Cohen's songs should be sung by actual singers,
I like what Cohen does, how he used his limits to make the song more memorable. Also, as BB and I have mentioned to each other, having him as the center of the song allowed his back-up singers - and he consistently picks the best back-up singers ever (or at least in the history of singer-songwriter backup singers) - both to shine and to turn the song into something glorious.
We still chuckle at a Canadian comic's parody of Cohen's singing - as would Cohen, we suspect.
I have heard little of his recent singing. I once expressed the fear that he had learned to sing in the intervening years and my comments would sound foolish or at least outdated, but I was reassured that he hadn't.
