The past is a foreign country, and in many ways a barbarous one. When I was growing up, people of obviously different "races" were not allowed to marry one another. The Supreme Court overturned that bit of savagery almost 50 years ago, and sane people are now pointing out that it is as reasonable to allow people of the same sex to marry. But even the first part of that message hasn't gotten through to some morons
