If you're cynical enough to believe the Occupation couldn't have made it through the winter, then Round 1 went to the good guys. The authorities could have waited it out and gotten to spin the story as "DFHs can't take it, crawl back to Mommy & Daddy," but they panicked and gave us a Jackbooted Oppressors story instead. In the classic phraseology of the New Frontier, "We were eyeball to eyeball, and the other fellow blinked."

Taking it with a grain, myself, but there's a story out there that the mayor of Oakland admitted that various mayors had decided to synchronize crackdowns on the various Occupy protests around the country.
