Understanding the problem

My fondest hope is that everyone at the DEA trips and falls and suffers a severe back injury. Then we can have a nice chat about regulation of pain medication

The whole thing where, culturally and politically, we're so against the idea of pain medication, reminds me of stories told by folks who work at abortion clinics. Sometimes women recognizable from anti-choice picket lines outside the clinic will come in, get abortions, and be back on those picket lines the very next day. Somehow their abortions are okay, you see. Just like the attitude, "Oh, well MY back pain is real, but those other schmucks are just faking it." *sigh*

That said, I love Thoreau's idea for some poetic justice, because hey.
