T has a bad case of "well, actually", but we're working on it and he's only 6. Here's hoping he'll be able to simulate adult behavior by the time he's an adult.
I sort of get it, but if the price of not being treated like one has cooties is to always agree with people who are wrong, I honestly think I prefer the cooties.
I've participated in discussions about how, in some social circles (e.g., SF fandom), correcting someone is considered polite and a sign of engagement and interest. Personally I don't react to it that way naturally, but I've learned to apply a filter to the point where I usually have an affectionate reaction to it rather than an annoyed/offended one.
