Ignorance

There are two kinds of people who are competent to discuss female sexuality:

(1) women
and somewhat less, (2) men who are interested in/involved with women.

Pope Benedict XVI is neither. Likewise, alas, Stephen Fry

He's not been to a straight bar in a while, has he?

Not to mention that many straight men are not necessarily eager to hang out with women who admit to having sex drives (see "Madonna/whore complex"), especially when they don't look like porn stars du jour. Enough straight men have sufficient contempt for women that having some kind of relationship at least insures, for the time being, that a woman is not getting the full measure of that contempt. (Although there's still some, from Mr. Fry, at least.)

Seriously not going to mention that all gay men are not like him.

oh dear. Wish I hadn't read that - I usually like him. Clearly not paying any sort of attention at all...

He complained that he had been misquoted on Twitter, so I took his word for it, and then [personal profile] djm4 posted this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A211L382EVI
