However, if these were anything like the previous round of quackery invoking the magical powers of electricity, there was no actual radium involved in these products. Given the price of radium and the controls over its distribution, not surprisingly.

Someone needs to do a PhD thesis on the ways in which medical quackery invokes whatever is the latest wondrous Scientific Discovery and its buzzwords.
