LJ does something right.

Livejournal appears to have fixed the mess about automatic posting of comments to locked journals. As [livejournal.com profile] feorag points out, if you complain when something goes wrong, you should say something when they fix it.

Have they fixed the part where they make changes without warning people in advance to find out if there are unforeseen consequences? If not, I'll save my "saying something" until then.

[personal profile] redbird reports that the code has not been rolled back. The fix will be in an upcoming release.

I have been following this as I decide what to do.

The fix has not been implemented yet, it is slated for the next upgrade in a bit less than 2 weeks. Also, it is only a partial fix. Most people who have been complaining/requesting a rollback have been concerned with all of their posts and wanting a journal-wide opt-in or opt-out.

One could just set their LJ posts to friends-only, but to be forced into it is annoying.
