Margaret Wander Bonanno was best known for writing professional Star Trek fanfic. She used that experience to write Preternatural, a delightful work of recursive sf. I never met her or even personally corresponded with her, but I copy-edited two of her Trek books, Burning Dreams and Catalyst of Sorrows and enjoyed doing so. [Keith R.A. DeCandido]

Ah, I really enjoyed her original-series Trek novels, back when they were first published. They had warmth and depth.
