When the onset of the pandemic led to a massive increase in demand for hand sanitizer this spring, many distilleries stepped up to alleviate the sudden shortage. Now the FDA has declared hand sanitizer an “over-the-counter drug” and is charging the companies a fee based on that. [Reason; CW: libertarian cooties]

The Department of Health and Human Services is now directing them to stop enforcing that.
