We don’t know yet who won, but we are reminded that there are tens of millions of mean, stupid white people who are willing to give the worst president ever four more years in the pious hope that he likes people of color even less than he likes them. And speaking of pious hopes, I fear there are some people who have heroic enough powers of denial to remain Left populists.

I think we wanted every single person in the US to rise up and say, "NO, NONE OF THIS, NO MORE." And it's okay to want that in the same way that it's okay to want your own castle: without an expectation of getting it. You're not disappointed this morning because you don't own Chateau d'Arthur, because you never were going to own Chateau d'Arthur this morning.

One of Nebraska's districts went for Biden. Nebraska. Don't let wanting a universal rejection of Trump make you ignore signs of progress.

This. My low expectations were exceeded, though I didn’t get the pony I hoped for. Trump will never stop litigating this election, but let’s hope we can make him do his litigating and inciting of his Nazi white supremacist militia’s violence from jail while we keep fighting for every inch of change. I liked the tone Biden hit in his speech today. That’ll do.

I think it’ still more like 40%, as it’s been. They work that voter suppression to do in close to 20% and keep us down to 40% at our best turn out. We’ll have to keep up our best turn outs and work it like mad, until we have enough in place in the grassroots to undo some of the suppression and more of them die off.
