“When noble statesmen do not itch….”

The Ohio legislature has passed a bill demanding that doctors attempt to reimplant ectopic pregnancies or face murder charges. The mandated procedure has the disadvantage of being impossible, as would any effort to implant brains in the legislators who voted for it. [Guardian]

Well that's horrifying. Part of me wants to angrily ask every anti-choice person I am cursed with knowing what they think of this bad science fiction, but I really shouldn't.

I love your last line and I truly wish it were a matter of brainlessness. I think it's a sadistic desire to kill women.

Whoah - the bill has merely been introduced, not passed. This may just be political theater, though judging by other bills already passed in that state, maybe not.

How like them to simply invent a non-existent cure for something only they deem a problem. They are the true fantasists.

Hold up a minute. I have known many women who had ectopic pregnancies, and they really did deem it to be a problem that they were not pregnant in a sustainable uterine way because in many of the cases they had tried pretty hard to be.

Now, that doesn't mean that declaring a cure by fiat is in any way (morally, practically/literally/realistically, omg what even) acceptable, but "something that only they deem a problem" would actually be far better than this situation, this is a nonexistent cure for something that a fairly large number of the persons affected would passionately LOVE to have a cure for and DON'T, it's much much crueler.

This!

A friend had one and after it had been dealt with, she would have been in no fit state to carry a child to term or anywhere else- it had almost killed her and she took many months to recover.

I don't have words to describe these people other than 'male scumbags'.
