You don’t want to read another cranky-old-fart post about how Gooeys turned computers into the sort of thing I want to use computers to deal with. Take as read. Yesterday LJ suggested I change my password because the KGB lost my old one I’d been using my old one for a mere 15 years.

So I picked a new one and after submitting to a number of catshits captchas (how else are we going to train the computers to impersonate us?) I got back into LJ. Today I learned that my posts to DW weren’t cross-posting anymore, so I had to redo them. Once again LJ joins President Trump as an argument for distrusting anything the Russians own.

Truth to tell I'd set up here via an invite code when it first came on line and had x posted to LJ for some years anyway given how problematic LJ's connectivity could be.

Please, Trump isn't "owned" by Russia. They rent him, at a reasonable rate. (And I pity whoever gives him his instructions.)

The reason it isn't cross posting is because DW still has the old password. On DW, go to settings > other sites and pick the "Details" below your LJ account and you can change it.

I heard that the captchas are actually us helping train the AI for self-driving cars.

Haven't spent time (yet) confirming this, but it would make sense. They always seem to be road-related (select the photos with cars, bridges, fire hydrants, crosswalks, stoplights) - AND - they always let you through, even if you select the wrong photos.

ETA: It occurs to me that this may be old news, and I'm just the last to know. Wouldn't be the first time. /o\
