Pat Buchanan says that Judge Sotomayor isn't smart enough because she was still learning grammar on the way to graduating first in her Princeton class. It reminds me of the Southern "literacy tests" for black would-be voters back in my formative years:

Sheriff (who can't spell illiterate) gives black professor a thermodynamics text in Sanskrit: "What's that say, boy?"

"It says I'm not voting in Mississippi."
