The Murky News (once the flagship of Knight Ridder) and almost all the other papers in the Bay Area went down the toilet after such a looting a decade ago. All of them are now fish-wraps. So this is hardly new news, tho it's good to read Jim Hightower again; it's been a while. (And damn, I liked the Austin American-Statesman.)
