I have so many memories, both of William Tenn, whose stories were formative for me, and of Phil Klass, who was one of the world's most delightfully irritating human beings.

In 1974 (I remember because I know where I was living), Phil and his wife Fruma came to dinner at Tom Whitmore's and my home. Phil pushed open the door and said, "I want to ask you a question." Four hours later, when they left, he was still building up to the question. We never found out what it was.
