There is a popular belief that politicians are stooges for the malefactors of great wealth. That’s oversimplified of course, but going back at least to Nelson Rockefeller, some of the malefactors of great wealth have decided to eliminate the middle man and become politicians themselves. One example is private equity kingpin Mitt Romney. (Yes, boys and girls, that’s the man whose company killed your toy store.) Now we have Mike Bloomberg, running on a platform of being not as bad as Trump (hardly a unique distinction). He has just demonstrated his unfitness by threatening to run the Oval Office on the open office plan.
