As my friend Stef Maruch says, the notion of having to put on a clown face every day to come across as properly female is scary. Like sex and so many other things, makeup is something people should do if they want to, but should be purely optional. Hillary Clinton, having lost the election, has decided to forgo that particular option. If the forces of truth, justice, and the American way connect on one of their Hail Mary passes (recount or faithless electors), not only will we have immeasurably better governance, but there will be the small pleasure of knowing that the millions of Americans who voted for Trump because he has a prick (as well as being one) have a woman president who doesn’t even play along with their silly rules for face painting.
