Nov. 25th, 2016 07:23 amEvery few years, there is a new breakthrough theory in Management Science to the effect that treating employees as if they were intelligent people who wanted to do their jobs well tends to produce good work. As near as I can tell, the main reason this theory has to keep being reinvented is that it takes away one of the major psychic rewards of being a boss. The new heresy is that requiring neat, uniform cubicles does not lead to increased productivity.
